The Fin
The soft coral light floods the sky as if marking its domain against all other colours. The ocean, bleak and silent, yields to its power and reflects back a dark shade of purple. I squint my eyes as I look at the dull silver of the urn: Its blatant lifelessness mocks the person it houses within.

Dystopets
I returned to my captors on the third day. The three of them surrounded me where I almost couldn’t breathe. The smallest one held me the tightest: I named her Delilah. The first thing Delilah did after bringing me back inside was put the locket with my name and foreign symbols on it around my neck. I clutched it and traced its heart shape with my dirty right index finger.

The Forgotten Art Form of Papercutting
I’m a storyteller. My stories consist of words but I’ve always been drawn to visual art, even though I can’t draw or paint, or at least not well. I wanted to learn a new way of storytelling when I randomly saw an ad for papercutting. This is it, I thought. A new way to explore telling a story without having to draw or paint. I can use my hands and imagination and touch something other than a keyboard. A few videos later, a "papercutter" was born.

Free as a Bird
It was the middle of the European leg of our backpacking journey when my best friend (and greatest person I know), Nevena, and I visited Switzerland. This particular adventure was a six-month backpacking trip consisting of 16 countries in Europe, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.

Egypt: Camels, Pyramids and Awe
Jumping out of the van crammed with our small group of eight “Intrepid Travelers,” the cool January air of the desert was somewhat refreshing. I couldn’t believe I was finally standing in the vicinity of the Great Pyramid of Giza. As a young child, I would sit on my grandmother’s beige carpeted floor and read books about what I thought were fantastical lands. Egypt was far out of the realm of my reality growing up in a large suburban city outside of Toronto.
