Memory
The heat of the Summer Solstice came down on our faces. Laying in the sand on the beach. My left hand found a seashell. The sea breeze brought in the smell of distant memories. I lick my lips in hopes that I will taste what my mind was remembering. I walk out to the balcony of the beach home I was renting. The sun was at its zenith on this Summer Solstice. The heat sent welcome calm to my aura. I am in a place of constant mourning and don’t know what to do with my emotions.

Tonight
This night has been in the making long before the chemistry began brewing between us. I’ve been fanning this flame needing to be engulfed by the fire. Residing on the 20th floor, I look out of my lake view floor-to-ceiling window. The sun is halfway hidden by the horizon. Its rays cascading into my living room. One of my favorite things to witness. Soon it will be the look on his face while he buries himself inside of me. I should not desire him so bad, but the connection is beyond what I can contain.

He is fighting the urge to look back at her. This rollercoaster seems to have finally come to its end. He seen the mourning in her heart. The affliction in her soul. They share the same soul. But this lifetime did not carry the karma to love as they should. His hand connects with the door handle, pulling the door to him. She jumps up from the couch saying his name. Her eyes pleading not to go. Yet and still, he steps over the threshold out of her life. Doing what needs to be done.
