The Snowman and Me
I sat watching the snowman melt through my window. Every day, I checked to see if he was still there, holding fast. Today, his hat had fallen crooked. His middle torso drooped like sagging shoulders, but his eyes remained firm. His stare resonated through me. I couldn’t help but feel connected somehow, but I couldn’t place the feeling. The glass fogged, and I wiped the mist with my palm for one blurry last look. It’s much warmer indoors, but I couldn’t help but feel like maybe we were both melting. It feels like that sometimes. No matter how much you try to remain strong and steady, the world melts it all away.

The Pain in Silence
The rain clattered down on the tin roof, rat-a-tat-tat. Like a deafening silence, echoing the void between them. The kettle boiled. But not like a modern kettle bubbling up with subtle satisfaction. This old, handmade cast iron kettle, once made with love, sat heavily on the gas. Visible cracks mark the surface through years of misuse and neglect. A symbol of their relationship, but unlike their love, the kettle rattled to a noisy climax. The pent-up energy bursts out of the well-formed spout with a piercing shrill that breaks the deathly silence.

The Way We Ended is How We Began
It didn't feel like a break-up but rather a "see you later" further down the road. It was not the right time for us. Love is not a gold rush. It's a diamond in the rough. It can take time to free us from the weight that we carry. And we were weighed down. Stuck in our rocks. Embedded in history. The dust of our past clouding our shine. But we'll get there. In time, we'll uncover one another. Free ourselves from the burden and gift our love to each other. Because together we're a pair. A complimentary set.

Siamese Phone
Everywhere I go, you come with me. Attached to my face like a character from Harry Potter, stealing my life force. Bloodsucker, mind fucker, traipsing through my mentalverse with unclear intentions. I solicit and enable your behaviour, and you devour the value of my time without hesitation.
