I read to escape I write to return
Don't you feel that tug in your chest? you take my heartstrings and knit them with yours yet, you don't feel each tug I create a poor attempt to bring you closer to me,

I still hear the echoes of your footsteps across the wooden floor, the shoes you'd drop at the front step, the studio we danced
loving you shouldn't be a chore loving you should come all at once not in bits and pieces. I've felt so chained to you i even forgot what love felt like.
my depression is like a shadow you can't always see her but she's there. dark and peering over my shoulder. She matches each step I take one after the other.
