love me, or love me not
I was really excited when I first saw the Love Unraveled prompt on the challenges page a few weeks ago. I had numerous ideas running through my head about what I could write. Love encompasses so much, and I felt encouraged by having personal experiences many times with love.

Wisteria Falls
My breaths are choppy as my bare feet fly across the damp forest floor. I can't breathe, and my feet are cut up and bleeding from the abuse I'm treating them to, but I can see the old boat house approaching as the trees start thinning. I'll be okay if I can make it inside and down to the decaying storm cellar. They won't think to look there. No one ever does. It's been my safe space in this town of monsters ever since the first time my stepdad visited my room, thinking I was sleeping. Just checking on me to make sure I was safe. It's more like pretending his vile dreams are the truth when they are actually the farthest thing.

*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP* Annie's day started with a fright, as always. Each morning she jumps awake to her obnoxiously loud alarm to turn it off as quickly as possible. She says it makes her feel alive and refuses to change it when her mother, Arelle, asks why she does that to herself every day.

Anxiety
It is always with me. I carry it on my back. I project it to the world. But I am none the wiser. I continue my scratching and stimming until someone asks, "Are you okay?" Then thinking back to what I had been doing, I didn't even realize I looked unwell. So I reply, "Yeah, I'm fine." so that my worries don't further burden those around me.
