Eliminating the CEO
“What were the latest numbers? No, tell him no deal!” One of the world’s most powerful CEOs was ranting over his Bluetooth earpiece as he locked the door to his penthouse behind him. He had made himself a lot of enemies over the years. Tonight, he would finally reap what he has sowed.

My Review of Honkai: Star Rail
Over the past several months, I have been playing a lot of Honkai: Star Rail. This game, which is made by the makers of Genshin Impact, is a very popular game that is actually in the process of celebrating its first anniversary! (Including with some in-game celebrations). Star Rail is currently available on Windows, Android, iOS, and PlayStation 5. Personally, I play it on my iPhone.

Why are scam emails so poorly written?
Unfortunately, scams are everywhere, and even though they have been around forever, they are becoming increasingly common, especially due to the rise in the internet. It is therefore important to understand how scams work and how to spot them. With this knowledge, we can hopefully prevent ourselves and others from becoming victims.

Footprints in the Snow
I begin to drift off to sleep in my remote ski cabin in the woods. The snow and winter wind are blowing strongly outside. Except for the storm, it is eerily quiet outside. This is because all of the woodland critters are hiding from the harsh winter weather. As I lay in bed trying to fall asleep after a long day of skiing, my mind wanders and I begin to ponder those footprints I saw near my cabin today. They were clearly human footprints, and were likely made from a man’s boot. And a large boot at that, likely at least a size thirteen.

Snow Isn't the Same as an Adult
I huff as I, out of breath and exhausted, strain to push the shovel full of heavy snow off the driveway. We got nine inches of snow today... and I have to be able to get out of my driveway in the morning to go to work. That means I get to spend my Sunday evening clearing this driveway. As I force myself to push through the exhaustion and keep shoveling, I reminisced about how awesome snow was when I was a kid.

My Goal for Vocal in 2024
As 2023 drew to a close and 2024 began, I did what many others did and partook in the annual tradition of setting some resolutions for myself for the new year. (Hopefully I stick to them all!) One of these resolutions relates directly to Vocal, and I set a specific goal to help me achieve it. My goal for Vocal in 2024 is relatively straightforward, yet it is also challenging: write more. This relates to one of my resolutions for this year, which is to try and write more, including on Vocal. I want to do this because I really enjoy writing and it gives me a good creative outlet. I also might want to turn it into a second career some time in the (likely) distant future.
