What Am I

Lover

I am not going to pretend I know what I'm doing

cuz I don't

I am not going to listen to the words that you're spewing

I just won't

are you shocked that I am staring into space

rather than looking in your face

for the guidance that it takes

so that we can raise the stakes?

are you surprised I am looking at the sky

instead of staring in your eyes

while I decipher all the lies

from the truth you so disguise

from the public's blinded eyes

I am tired of everyone believing I am doing something wrong

I never lie and I am wise enough to write this song

to state the facts and defend my position however long

it takes me I have to redeem my reputation before it's gone

I am a lover not a fighter

but I will fight to distinguish the ignitor

of the flame that burns in your brain

that says I am insane and should pay for your lame

ideas in your head of how I should be dead

or punished as you tread

on my heart and my head

What is it about my appearance that

makes you think I would lie

is it my long silky hair

or how I stare with my blue eye?

is it my luscious ass or my spectacular tits

or my slender thighs?

my creamy skin, the scent I'm in

I mean really why?

do I get accused after all the

things you do to hurt me

I'm so confused

please tell me before I get used

and my heart gets ripped up

and abused

I can't take it anymore

I am a lover

not a whore...
