Shout a meaningless love song.
Something I'll remember,
with lyrics so vain
and bitter,
I'll have no choice but to love it,
just like I loved you.
Defensive whispers escape your mind,
into the howling wind constantly surrounding you.
You're always within my reach,
but I could never quite keep you around,
while my hands always soaked themselves with revenge,
Scream your love for me,
even if you don't mean it,
let your actions prove it just for a little while.
Spread the toxins
only your lips occupy while pressed against my own.
You thought you could break me,
and for a moment there, you did.
But I took a second look at the man without a face,
and when this was all said and done,
my lips formed a slicing grin
cutting through your defenses
like a sharp blade drawing blood from your slow beating heart.
So scream.
Scream for me,
just one more time.
Let me know I'm not the only one always losing my voice.
