Music on a Walk

When a visual thinker listens to music while on a walk, this happens

Some steps out the door,

Some taps on the phone,

Stick the buds,

And I'm content alone.

The sounds that soothe their way in my ears,

Although doesn't steal my attention

From where my feet are venturing,

Creates worlds to coexist with my birth world

That only my eyes are privileged to view.

It serves as my mind's caffeine,

With more effect than boredom

As claimed by its owner

Who prefers pictures over particulars

When vacuuming information.

"What ifs" can whirl around,

Memories might materialize,

Inspiration even issues.

Thoughts want to escape with my voice,

But music shrinks that Hulk

And keeps me in control.

Once I return to the door,

I just claim the journey was "good"

And the experience remains my little secret.

Monique Star

I'm not the most sophisticated adult out there. I'm also not the best at communicating all the time, but I do try my best to get my thoughts out there into the world verbally or nonverbally.
