Modern Man

A Poem

How could you think less

to undress this princess

with your eyes of selfishness

and feel so shameless?

To think that you one day

may father a young girl

or bring her into this world

could even have the unflappable hurl.

And you call yourself a man

because of muscles, backbone, and big hands?

I'm sorry there was no one to show you the truth,

but they just left you with experiences you used to create your own views.

Put yourself in the girl's shoes.

It’s like being sexually abused

every time you let your eyes loose.

Now they think of themselves as these toys for these boys.

That there is no other possible way that they could find joy.

I want to say that society is screwed,

but I know we can change the lens that they view through.
