Jazzin’ in the Rain

An Ode to the Band

The music mixes with the rain drops as they fall

The saxaphone doesn’t seem to mind, it keeps spitting out what it wants to say

It will not be silenced by some power of nature, but it will keep playing on and on and on

Until it has said all that is needed to be said.

The music mixes with the crack of lightning that lights up the sky

The drums don’t seem to mind, they welcome the light as a new texture into the landscape they are trying to convey

Trying to paint in the beholder’s mind so desperatley wanting

Them to see.

The music mixes with the thunder as it rolls across the water

The bass just laughs, “That was my next rhythm!” It calls out.

Music will not be stopped by any force of nature

For you cannot stop what comes from the soul, only add to

It
