It’s Not You

It's not you.

It's me.

I don't like you.

This nonsense is my normal.

Running away is not my style.

I stay for the battle.

I sell the spectators popcorn and corndogs at a discounted rate.

Then the honest truth comes out.

I am no angel.

I am losing my mind.

My mental health is bad.

All I needed was a break.

Some time to reflect.

But this gets blown out of proportion.

I value my alone time.

I feel mauled like a cat who does not want any more attention.

My claws come out.

I retreat to my safe space.

Which smells of sage and poor decisions.

Can the world please stop for a moment so I can catch my breath?

I never signed up for this.

I want to do the right thing.

Only the right thing is not always clear when you have someone following your every move and you have zero room to breathe.

It’s not you.

It’s me.

I need space.
