Innocence

Frail and Lonely

Infected with hope.

Raided by eager happiness.

murdered by faith and trust.

The thought of love tainting.

"Keep trying."

"Don't give up."

"Trust me."

"Love me"

Trust too easily.

Love too fast.

No one tells you

it won't last.

Your heart is pure.

Full of life.

But if you stay.

You'll know real

hurt and strife.

Keep you reeled.

keep you here.

Keep you up,

on your heels.

And when it happens.

Finally. At last.

You'll be broken.

You'll be passed

Heart spilled across the floor.

passed around.

Thrown out the door.

You trust too easily.

You love too fast.

But soon you'll realize.

It won't last.
