I'm a Millionaire

A Tone Poem by Tom Rose

Looking around I see

Some people got it made

It's just unbelievable

What some folk are getting paid

Movie Stars

In fancy cars

Living life without a care

Must be nice, must be nice

To be a Millionaire

It’s not for lack of trying

That life turned out this way

I'm getting tired of buying

What I paid for yesterday

No pot of gold to have and hold

You know life's not always fair

But I don’t mind

'Cause in your eyes

I’m a millionaire

Your love means more to me

Than the world’s most precious jewels

One look and it’s plain to see

We’re breaking all the rules

If the world is my oyster

Then, Honey, you’re the pearl

I ain’t got a penny

But I’m the richest man in the world

'Cause when it comes to chasing wealth and fame

You know I don’t have a clue

Don’t care much about anything

Just as long as I have you

A pot of gold, to have and hold?

You know we don't have a prayer

But I don’t mind

No, I don’t care

Just as long

As you are there

No, I don’t mind

’Cause in your eyes...

I’m a millionaire

I'm A Millionaire
