Hide and Seek

When you play hide and seek ,

people call your name to try and find you.

What do you do? You camouflage and stay put

or perhaps you can’t hear them because they’re not close.

They look and they look and eventually they’ll stop looking for you -

they give up.

That’s when you finally step out and show up.

Maybe that’s what you’re soulmate is doing at this very moment.

You’re calling their name but they’re safely tucked away under the pages of time.

So keep searching-

you’re going to find other people along the way.

But I know you’re not looking for glitter darling- you want a gem.

So keep walking.

And slowly but surely you’re going to get exhausted.

That’s just how the game works.

Just know that when you’re tired of looking and declare the end.

They’re going to come out of hiding and walk straight to you.

You won’t recognize them in the darkness of the night.

You won’t smell a single clue.

It’s only a matter of seemingly infinite moments

Before the moon guides them to you.

Plot twist: They were playing their own game of hide and seek.

They were seeking you this whole time
