Why some folks don't post their sorrows online

Posts and pictures are an escape

We can speak our minds

We can serve our thoughts on cones

And make friends without being on Awkward's leash.

With so much potential,

Why must there be #sad?

When the world shoves you down,

Sure, you'll seek out help,

But typing desperation on the web

Can make it multiply like rabbits

And octo-thwart everyone's plans for escape.

If it'll just tear down those hopes,

Why must there be #sad?

Worlds can potentially collide.

What is curtained offline

Can be unveiled online,

But if real eyes seek you out

And fill blanks you never knew were there,

Those you lock your thoughts from

Will drag you by the collar

And berate you for the key

So your thoughts can wither

From yells of "You don't matter."

With a lot of risks

Of yells instead of typed words...

Why must there be a #sad?

Monique Star

I'm not the most sophisticated adult out there. I'm also not the best at communicating all the time, but I do try my best to get my thoughts out there into the world verbally or nonverbally.
