Does happiness mean sunshine?
Does happiness mean light?
Does happiness mean you wake up each day
Or get to sleep at night?
Does happiness mean company?
Does happiness mean love?
Does happiness mean a family?
Or some things you might dream of?
Or does it mean stability?
Does it mean you're safe?
Does it mean friendship flows?
Or you're your own safe place?
Maybe no-one really knows
We scramble for descriptions;
But maybe happiness is just,
The greatest contradiction.
By this I mean, stop worrying.
Stop striving, begging, racing
Take tiny steps, live for now;
Stop pondering and pacing.
If we wait and take a moment,
Open our eyes to what's before us,
Maybe there's your happiness,
Your own sweet, happy chorus.
