From Streets to Love

Just because they're used to the streets doesn't make them their forever home. #VocalNPM

I spend my days wandering the area.

Hunting for food

Roaming for warmth

I'm just reintroduced to my ancestors' ways.

I sometimes notice some brethren

With embraces and accessories clinging to them

As if they gnawed their past away.

If both lifestyles each hid behind a door,

Would I point to my current lifestyle?

Well, after so long, I don't know anymore,

But any complaints won't be understood.

I curl up against a tree

And feel grateful for my warm fur.

I don't know what will happen next,

But at least I can take care of myself.

The next I wake up,

An embrace consumes me

And a sensation goes through me.

Is this what warmth feels like?

After who knows how long,

I notice we're in front of a... building.

I thought only some of my kind can enter,

But I guess I'm welcome in this one.

I am placed in a container with water and... something that smells nice.

I am covered in a fluffy embrace

Until the water stops dripping off my fur.

I am placed in a room filled with

Accessories and more of my kind.

There are also people who seem friendly

And they actually approach me without indifference.

I don't know what will happen next,

But I think I like this place already.
