Leather bound
Etched in stone
Written in ink on thin pages
Dictate to me the law of my life
Guide me with such grace
Allow your mercy to flow through me
The breath of life I receive
The outpouring of love deep from within
Pours down from one much higher than me
Take these broken pieces
Make a new picture of me
The edges are sharp
The glass-like glitter
So much of me to make new
To trust in a power I have never seen
Takes faith much bigger than I
Am capable of in my current state
Forgive me for discourse
Trust that I believe
Trust that I will work
To understand the greater plan
One not my own
Debased by struggle
Stubborn by sinful nature
Unworthy of such gifts you provide.
