Desolate

Near, Here?

Stay close, for we don't know what is

Near,

How do we know we're welcome if we don't know what is

Here?

A willing testament kept away from this letter

Home,

We made it worse when we went looking for a better

Home.

Could we be met halfway to understand us

Fully,

We survived being picked on by burying the heart of a

Bully.

Fall for anything, though you always stood

Everything,

Gather all the pieces that we let Fall come

Every Spring.

Fat chance that we wouldn't have to pull our own

Weight,

Are we lost? Or did we just fool our own

Fate.

Could our swords be mightier in this

Penn State?

What could we possibly reel in using

Pretend bait?

This camp for the concentrated has caused us all to lose

Our focus,

Breathing down our necks is the only way that they could

Choke us.

We smile because they gave us every reason to

Frown,

We made it to the shore despite every reason to

Drown.

Surfing this turf, we dared to hang ten on ground

Zero,

We uncovered in a villain what it takes to be a profound

Hero.

Dreaming wasn't our field until it was put upon the

Grass,

We won't know what's down this road unless our foot is on the

Gas.

We lost interest concerning the finders

Fee,

No need to pay attention if the reminders

Free.
