A Poem

Umbratic visage, how she basks in her

aerial throne with a queen’s vainglory -

yet her pride is well-earned, for she is

an artist among the unjudging clouds,

her ebony feathers cascading to fleck

the ground, lovely blackened strokes.

Yet there is humility tucked in her roots,

melancholy veiled under regal wings,

for she is all too aware of the scorn her

earthly subjects arm themselves with -

superstitious arrows tipped in decrepit

fears, nocked to impale her heart.

Dishonored as an omen, she is stricken

by hate plagues and no amount of her

deft ink can sway them - these minds

forged in toxified steel, unyielding to

open their eyes, but she merely adjusts

her crown - undaunted, she will persist.

I am currently a student at a university, trying to find my way in life, while also trying to write a book. Lots of ideas bouncing in my head for potential articles, so we'll see how that goes. Cheers!
