Car Ride

Love Poem

Your head rests in my lap and

Your lids hide those distractingly stunning eyes and

I feel your loose curls between my fingers and

My eyes gaze at the perfection of your elegantly sculpted face.

Your head rests in my lap and

I hold onto you to make sure you’re not just a blissful dream and

The wind blows around my hair and

Shadows leap across your nose and cheeks and eyelids and

Your peaceful look brings a slight smile to my face.

Your head rests on my lap and

The car hits some bumps and

You don’t seem to notice and

You focus on nothing but

My bare legs beneath your head and

My fingers in your hair.

Your head rests in my lap and

My heart pounds in my chest and

The feelings of your body on mine send a rush through me and

Out my fingertips and in your hair and

I feel connected to you and

I want to stay like this forever,

Your head resting in my lap.
