Burn My Heart

Poem

Taken in the direction of down.

Have I any choice if my heart is bound?

So we’re on our way to hell.

You didn’t think I’d take it so well.

Go ahead and burn my heart.

There would be nothing to feel.

As you made sure my thoughts aren’t real.

Let it set alight.

I know you want to see your blight.

So just burn my heart.

I don’t feel the slightest ember.

You don’t let me remember.

Please do not hesitate.

You want to see the burnt flesh you make.

I’m expecting you to burn my heart.

A feeling we didn’t get.

Emotions we know we will regret.

To see my little ticker cinder.

Is put out with a winder.

There is no more heart left to burn.
