And Here I Am

A Poem

And here I am, waiting for the wind to carry me towards the sun.

It is better than waiting for you.

Here I am sitting on my porch.

Waiting for my love to show up one day.

I see the other couples holding hands, and gazing into each other's eyes.

I have been here so long waiting for you.

I do not know if it is worth my time.

Waiting for you to show up.

I have been here for many years, watching the people go by.

And here I am, waiting for the wind to carry me towards the sun.

I am wasting my time waiting for you to show up.

Why do I even bother thinking you exist?

The pain in my heart is too much to bear.

The stabs in my heart, are ever so repeated.

I do not think another wound can be made.

The years keep on passing by as I sit on my porch.

The tears start to come, and the blood starts to run.

My world is crashing around me because I have waited so long for you to come to me.

And here I am, waiting for the wind to carry me towards the sun.
