I have witnessed a death that I relive every time I step into an elevator. Although it no longer affects me as deeply—given that it's been 11 years since the incident—it remains a heart- rending memory from my first and last day as a paramedic. My initial call to the scene involved a man who seemed to have fallen down the elevator shaft of a high-rise building. Alternatively, it might have been that the elevator moved upwards while he was working on it. Different scenarios were being considered when I arrived.

The Darkness
“Wake up, Wake up Mummy please. You need to wake up” The cries of 9-year-old Julia wailed through the empty house with not a person to respond for miles. The lifeless body of the Childs mother lay there slightly curled up on the once crisp white leather lounge before the darkness had come. Only the sounds of what sounded like whispers from beyond the darkness could be heard, but never did they come into the darkness.

Don’t lie, I’m not.
Memories of my father when he was alive seem so wild and fictitious. I know they are true, I’m sure they are true! “What did your daddy do now Jessie?” was mockingly spoken so many times by my peers over the years when I would recollect stories about my father.

The day the wifi stopped
Muuuuummmmm the wifi stopped. Hi I'm Daniel, just a regular dude about to sit down after a hard days work at school with my iPad, iphone, Apple TV and Xbox. You know; just the regular gadgets of the many available that 13 year olds have these days.
