Zebra
You, my friend, are the zebra. I know you are winning the fight.

You are Tranquil,
You hold balance
Dark as night
alongside the brightest light
Wading through the sun-bleached grasses
The stripes on your knees are dull with sand they ache from your demanding journey
In this oppressive land
Your fight is worth the struggle
Your journey to safety
to health, to life
You run with your head held to the skies
Fatigue present in your beautiful eyes
But you’ll never let devourers consume you
Black stripes, your body fights
White bands, your heart stands
As the sun rises to conquer the night
As clear as day, I know your winning the fight
