Your Effort

Family is very important to me,

Who else do you have when things go extreme?

You might fight in life, things don't always go right,

but who is there in the end?

Your family and some close friends.

As time goes by, you lose touch.

You don't talk to your family or friends as much.

You miss out in the end,

Because you didn't keep up with any of them.

There are texts or messages left about getting together,

but when it came down to it, it's

"I would love to, but let's do it later."

there are reasons and excuses,

there's this and there's that,

but when all comes down to it,

there is no excuse for that.

Time keeps passing by,

visits get pushed back further and further.

"Hey, I'd love to see you, We should get together."

and "Sorry, I can't make it, how about later?"

Till you get that call, you knew you are dreading,

the worst call of all,

You see them once more,

at their funeral, you are attending.
