Your Angel Above

Hear my voice, child.

Don't cry for me child

at the grave for I will not be there,

look right beside you

and wipe those tears.

You won't be able to see me

but that doesn't mean I am not here,

I hope you will feel my presence

with each shift in the air.

I will not leave you

not while I am on this earth

or on the other side,

visiting your dreams

until you too arrive.

When you get to heaven

because child - I know you will make it there,

look for me at Jesus's feet

and a tearful hug is what we shall share.

I have to hope that I somehow measure up,

that I am able to sit at Jesus's table

with my very own cup.

Until we meet again do me a favor

and pull yourself back up,

stand up tall and show this world

what you are truly made of.

Don't you dare let that sorrow win,

for I will be dancing with the kind of joy

in which I had never been.

Don't allow that sorrow to overcome your heart,

take a deep breath in

and realize that we aren't truly that far apart.

You have made me so very proud,

and I hope you always remember that

whether I am beside you

or sitting upon that cloud.

About the Creator

Stephanie Lifton

Hi! You will soon find different varieties here. I am a writer and a poet, though I am still passing some stepping stones with this. I get wrapped up in the poem sometimes and it may turn out long in the end, so I apologize in advance. :3
