You Destroyed Me

You've always told me to never be afraid of the monsters that lay beneath my bed...but it turned out that you were the monster.

You've always told me to never be afraid of the monsters that lay beneath my bed

You injected all this fear into my thoughts

Scared that I was going to be the victim

But then the monsters...

They broke you

You weren't 'you' anymore

You were the body holding the spirits of the abused

They provoked you until you roared

Then got upset at you for becoming the monster they had created

You've always told me to never be afraid of the monsters that lay beneath my bed

And then you turned into the monsters that I was afraid of

But you didn't break me...

You destroyed me

When they ask you about me

And you find yourself thinking back on all of our memories

I hope you ache in regret as the truth hit you like a bullet

And you'll find yourself replying...

"She loved me more than anyone else in the entire world

and I murdered the delicate soul of what she was

I pray that one day you'll grow to realize all of your mistakes

And one day when you care enough to find me

I'll look at you and turn away

Just like you did
