You Broke My Heart When You Beat Me at Chess

This is about a friend who broke my trust.

This cut goes deeper than the sea.

It hurts more than words can tell.

It's getting your heart ripped out.

Being deceived by someone you thought would be there for you.

Reliving past nightmares.

Only to see everyone else was right all along.

Don't go to sleep.

Don't close your eyes.

This will all be over in the blink of an eye.

Nail that coffin lid down tight.

Be careful who who let into your life.

Some never cared about you.

And are looking for the moment you need them most to drop you like a hot coal.

Block you from their life.

And give zero explanation.

Then push you off a cliff,

And wonder why you fight back.

Wonder why there is bad blood.

Why you will never trust them again.

And why you feel betrayed.

Talk too cheap.

I never shut up.

And if you retained anything I ever said,

You would know I speak out of love and not hate.

You shot me in the back and kicked me when I was already down.

Then wonder why I am hurt.

You ignored my attempt to explain things to you.

You always have to have the last word.

Well so do I!

I have been running my mouth to the wrong people.

Because this is a war I am determined to win.

I won't just put down my chess piece,

And walk away.

Though after you have lost too many pawns,

And only have your queen

You concentrate on her more.

The game is over.

No one won.

We both lost in fact.

But I will learn from these mistakes.

I will become a better person.

I will move on.

I will write my own book.

And spend time with only those who matter.

Who aren't looking for the perfect moment to abandon me, when I am no longer useful to them.

When I choose my cocoon over social interaction for three months.

But I am coming out of this a butterfly.

And you are still an ugly moth who never learned how to use her wings.

My words are my poison.

But they are also my sanity.

I feel through them.

I am an empath.

The weight of the world on my shoulders.

I put my pawns down

And focus on the queen.
