You Be Careful What You Pay For...

...When the soul is your receipt.

what can I say

when my words get bent out of shape?

how can it be?

when you no longer see what I see.

behind my eyes I’m watching you move

in a way that moves me;

your every step and stride a moment in time

I can’t rewind,

and the impossibility’s got me restless.

the clocks in the backs of my eyes are wrong,

they stopped with the rise and fall

of your chest.

and I can’t fix them

without a fix of my own and

if only I could find you breathing somewhere,

feel your heart beating somewhere,

even if it meant that

I’d lose myself

I would

I would

I would

a thousand times over again

I’d lose myself

to find you again

in loving memory
