You Are My Butterfly
Go unto the vast world.
You are my butterfly
I see you looking at the sky.
Why do you not fly?
You let the weight of your life hold you down.
You must break the shackles of this sorrowful ground.
I see your dreams.
I hear your heart.
I’m here with you, you’re not alone.
I can see your memories.
The pain of your life has not scared you.
Those painful events are now a part of you.
I see them in your wings.
They now create a beautiful design.
But your heart is not yet willing.
I see your kindness, it reflects in your smile.
Don’t be afraid to go on your own.
You have to make your own path now.
Your unique, no one is like you.
As I look to the future I want to see you fly.
Even if the skies close.
Even if the winds knock you back.
Even if you feel weak
Even if you cry
Keep going.
Fly into the world.
As time passes and the heavens fade
Now the skylight reflects a dim jade.
As you venture to distant lands and places
Always remember
No matter how Far away you are.
No matter how much you change.
No matter where you end up.
No matter what you become.
Or what you do.
You are my butterfly.
Fleeting Memory
Fleeting memory
We say we understand the world.
Yet we curse our troubles.
We say we understand one another.
Yet we kill our friends and mothers.
We say that peace clears the hearts of many.
Yet our sins are all that are many.
We turn our heads and hope that the screams of anguish will fade.
Yet we know nothing.
We live in a broken world.
A world shaped by stupidity and pity.
Sometimes I lay in the grass.
And relive my shattered past.
I try to remember good times in my life.
But I can’t anymore.
Hurtful moments all my heart stores
As the veil from our souls roars
The good killed young.
And the evil kept alive.
Reversed are the world’s eyes.
As I lay the pains start to fade away.
Crimson are the beams that befall the new day.
What are we doing?
How can we be living if we can’t even remember the simple gifts in life?
So fickle is a life of searching.
So tender are the scars of old.
We claim to be advanced in the world of technology.
Yet we don’t even know our roots.
Farther and farther we get from the truth.
To give me life is to give me love.
To give me love is to give me feeling.
To give me feeling is to give me faith.
To give me faith is to give me hope.
To give me hope is to give me patience.
To give me patience is to give me time.
To give me time is to give me a memory.
Though weak and fragmented this memory lives.
A symbol of change and of warmth
And although there may be great depression in the world and in my heart
I’ll never forget this wonderful fleeting memory.
The embrace of a stranger
You hold me in frozen stillness.
You don’t run or hide from me like I have some illness.
Yet I’m not comforted by your presence.
You take my pain and listen to all I have done in vain.
But my heart you do not tame.
Why do you insist?
Do you not see my clenched fists?
Your face is shaded in my misery.
The past I cannot see.
I’m afraid of a memory.
That will someday torture me.
Just for a moment of serenity.
I allowed this illusion to console me.
This kindness where is it coming from
I refuse to believe in unconditional love.
Still, you existed for a brief second.
I don’t understand this feeling.
This sensation of healing
As I lay in the dark kneeling
Maybe this emotion is worth not killing.
Even though it feels like stealing.
This unweaving concept that sends me reeling
My echoing dreams hang from the ceiling.
You came from nowhere.
Your shadow all that I could stare.
Remembering the brushing of your hair
Is this happiness is this compassion.
Has the world taken on a new fashion?
I’m glad you were there.
That at least you cared.
It’s thanks to you my courage grew
But still who are you.
A Moment In Time
A moment in time/ frozen wings
You’re like a faint memory.
A feeling of happiness when all senses cease
Just for a moment in time, you appear before me.
You are my forbidden fantasy.
Yet you’re not dirty for any to see.
You visit me in mere glimpses.
Leavening my soul hungering for more
You’ve been through all my minds doors.
You presence unravels my core.
To my sorrow, you won’t be there tomorrow.
Again leaving feelings of hallow.
In my envy, I wallow.
Losing you would be too much to even swallow.
So why do you break my heart?
Why not appear to me in my times of darkness.
It’s magnetic this sensation.
Lusting for you as I send my repeat invitations
Solace in the world I hope for.
As I again remain to wait for decor.
Slow is the pace of my step.
For all, I just added to one rep.
Days of harmonies view displayed when I look at you.
What else is there to slue?
As I continue.
Breaking the majesty of the skies hue
I’m still reaching for stars.
As the ingrates of this world waste away in their local bars
Life isn’t worth being scared.
These words of logic I declared.
Life is meant to be a cluster of pain and mistakes.
Why do you fade now?
At least show me how.
I can’t make this world shine
For it lives in its own decline
Surely this world is not mine.
If you would grace me again/ then I could escape this world of sin
And maybe live in peace for just a moment in time
