We can’t always control things that’s true
but you can handle everything about you
You can control who you give of your love
you can even keep it inside like your secret when push comes to shove
It feels good to let go of resentment and pain
you control who you want to let in, if you even choose to ever again
You can decide right now or never
to let them hurt you today and forever
It takes a strong person to pick themselves up after a beating
but it takes loving oneself to keep it from repeating
You are are in control of who you show vulnerability
you can hide it inside to protect yourself, or you can share it with someone else
Either way there’s no right no wrong
the key is in to never stop trusting that your heart is the one that is strong.
