You...

A Poem about Loss and Forbidden Love

When we are alone my heart skips a beat…My feelings grow stronger each time we meet…I lie in your arms and forget everyone…You understand me so well better than anyone…

We lay nestled together like two Tetris blocks…You are my bear… and I am your fox…Big, strong, kind, and protective you always are…Especially when we are away from home so far…

Perfect days spent having so much fun…Movies, hanging out and fun in the sun…Making each other chuckle, giggle and laugh…We know deep down we are each other’s better half…

Talking or texting we never mind which as long as we talk…Or just spending time with each other going on a walk…Snapping cheeky selfies, and just having a hug…Or I make you cups of tea in your favorite mug…

Then comes the time when your phone will ring…You look into my eyes with such sadness and longing…My chest goes tight as I know what that means…Until next stolen moment you will be only in my dreams..

As I embrace you, each time when we have to say bye…It pains me to admit that I sometimes cry…For she gets you, to be with… to hold…And I am left alone, doing what I am told.

Then comes the time when night draws in…When I realize that she always gets to win…She lies by you in bed not much affection shown…whilst I lay my head down and sleep alone…

I dream of the day we can share a bed…To know this can’t be fills my heart with lead…I want nothing more than for you to be content…Do I understand your words in the way they are meant…

The one I want will always be you...But as I sit here knowing there is nothing I can do.It hurts me so much knowing you will never be mine,Knowing she has you till the end of time.
