Yellow House

I'd be scared of me.

Keep inside little one,

Of that yellow corner home.

On the corner of beginnings,

Of the only world you know about.

Keep there, where pink flowers are in bloom,

And climb up all the walls.

Where plastic candles are set to rest in window sills,

To call work warn fathers home.

Keep locked inside little one,

In your room of pink and joy,

Where mother’s never but a call away,

And the most you could ever pine for is a toy.

I beg of you little one,

Lock up all the doors.

All the windows too.

Lest you find your way out one foolish night,

And become something more like me,

And less like you.

About the Creator

Destiny Smith

Writing is one of the few constants I've had throughout my life, and Vocal seemed like the perfect opportunity to put it all somewhere.
