Writing Tears

You can sit

And you can try

You can stare long and hard

At the paper

Grip the pen until there is ink running

Down your hand pooling

Like blood

Staining the purity of the paper

You can aim to focus

On the words printed

You can run your fingers

Over the pages edges

Yet nothing will come

And nothing will stay

Except the tears

That you have written
