Writing in Sand

Painting a picture from my mind.

I wish I could write words

in an order that I knew

to be good

To paint a picture

with one color

and many lines

That could sing beautifully

and loudly illustrate

the joy that is within me

If a soul should be seen

I wish I could make it appear

Drawing closer, I feel him near

As close as the air to my lungs

When he inhales his spirit

And breathes it into me

I feel so carefree

Like a seagull on a beach

Hovering above crashing waves

Nothing affects me

But I wish you could see

And know that God is good

If only I could show you that

I would hang up my hat

That would be nice

It would feel right

To have brought out the light

Just as we saw night

Closing in over our sin and flesh

The rays so bright then ignite

And the smoke from our flesh

would be all that was left

But then fresh air

Would blow it all away

I wish I could see that

In my own lifetime

I wish I could hear that

With my own two ears

I know I can feel it

Because, right now, I can breathe it in

If only I pray

I could write.

About the Creator

DeRon Scott

I write for my own benefits occasionally, but mostly for the closeness that I can bring to others who may be miles away. This is my purpose and I plan to follow through at the cost of my life. For me, that's how Truth is revealed.
