Just Doing My Job

To the lady cussing me out and causing a scene in the check out line because i asked for her ID to purchase cigarettes

I'm sorry I'm following the law and doing my job

To the guy I caught shoplifting that was asked to leave the store

I'm sorry for following company policy and doing my job

To the lovely lady that called me a racist idiot for no longer selling a product

I don't control what we do and don't sell and I'm sorry whomever you talked to was misinformed

To every single person that has ever felt the need to yell at, cuss at, threaten to harm, or belittle me

I have anxiety and you won't see the terrified girl inside me screaming.

You won't see my heart racing or feel the blood drain from my hands

You won't feel me get cold or dizzy

I'm so sorry you're upset and that i cant help BUT i'm just doing my job
