Confessions of the Heart

Brighton Seafront Sunset

A thousand words couldn't bring you back,

I know this because I tried.

Neither could a thousand tears,

I know this because I cried.

So what then can I possibly do?

Shall I wander through the maze of my mind?

Or shall I look up to the stars above and wish,

To me you shall return o most beautiful amongst womankind.

My emotions and feelings all poured onto paper,

Unable to speak or utter them, so I use my hands,

Yet time is no longer my friend or keeper,

I am one of many to you, a grain amongst the sands.

There is nothing left to say,

Even if there was the words would stick in my throat.

All that is left for me are dreams and hopes,

That you will one day return and keep this sinking ship afloat.
