She came to me when I was about 2 or 3

saying, “Be my pimp use my letters to set minds free,

but be loyal to me and I will always be in you.”

So I thought about her offer until the dawn.

But why do I need her when in truth with these words I am Bishop Don Juan?

And so of course I cheated and I mixed, tricked these letters out and shit.

Life is a bitch, and these letters help my soul deal with it.

So I asked, “How with all these possibilities am I supposed

to wed my temporal lobes, to only you, your words and your fold?”

I’d be a fool a pimp with no...Well damn you know!

She smiled and she laughed in many different sounds cast

from her lips that could stop sound in mid-sentence.

Well you know I had to be me pimped out with these words,

mastering these nouns and verbs. She was still laughing she had not heard.

But before I could speak this... well you know.

She spoke softness from head to toe. I’m talking pimp game so solid it would sink,

not float, full proof pimp, she had a swagger with a slight limp.

She explained, “In the midst of hordes of pain,

I am not words, they are a piece of my herd.”

“What are you then and why should you be my only friend?”

“I am more than mere sound, more than how your words get down.”

“What are you then and why should you be all that I live in?”

She smiled and said, “Baby listen I am not words but language. I am not

language but culture. I am not culture but humanity. I am not humanity but

humanity’s creativity. You can never cheat on me you can never forsake me.

I am the expression of words and the writing of words. You are a mere sheep

in the flock I am the entire herd, word!” “Word?” She spoke to me of the

Poetry of Life and she made me understand, I never pimped these words I

MADE THEM MY WIFE!
