Wondering of Wonders in Wonderland
When I Followed Alice Down the Rabbit Hole...
Halt child beauty!
Where do you go?
With your crystal blue eyes
Upon a countenance fit for a ravishing queen
With straw mounted so delicately upon thy head
A rabbit you say?
A meal I say!
"Nay!" you say?
"Tis my friend with a keen eye on time,
He must not be led astray!
With a woodland wit and a motive to serve a queen full of rage!”
That hole in the ground looks deep, dark and engulfing
Never ending, and yet you marvel with delight
Had I not have been this ripened state
I would have feared but nothing and jumped with haste!
Onwards and downwards you scream as do I
A child's curiosity may cause my demise
Then you land head first on a floor with lights?!
Traipsing through all that is beyond the norm
You eat to grow, you drink to shrink
You flow with ease and converse with trees
The flowers talk, blue yellow and pink!
A bird long gone, the Dodo flourishes
You sweet innocent child
You know not what you have found;
For this is the land of wonders, the wondrous land!
The land where you wonder, what is this land?
And when you see the talking birds,
The heartless queen,
The tea drinking hare,
His friend, with a hat so rare!
You crave what lies ahead,
You move fearless… a brave heart with flare
A cat with stripes
A Cheshire is its type
He lays on a fright
Yet you continue with delight!
You young lost soul,
Moving towards reality
In a land non-existent
You search for life
Forever persistent!
