Wonder, What Wonder

How the Current Pulls You Under

Wonder, what wonder

How the current pulls you under

As you sink down farther

You suddenly hear thunder

You approach the clouds at the bottom of the sea

And you see

Your perception’s been wrong

When what brought you down now takes you up

But now it’s taking too long

Is up really up now?

As you sink down

You suddenly come out

Heading south

Downwards still

Somewhere in the middle of the thunder

Sea becomes a gateway to sky

And why?

You’re floating slowly

And then

Gravity has its way

You’re going to stay the path

Till at last

You’re approaching land

And the sand

As hot as a temper

Blows as the wind shifts

While falling you might as well smile

It’s going to take awhile

But this sand is not a fan of crashes

So it sweeps itself away

You started this day hiking

Then went swimming

Not for winning

You weren’t sinning to just enjoy the trip

Until you tripped on a bone

While on your hiking and biking adventure

When you realized you’d forgotten your dentures

But wait

It had escaped your memory

You don’t wear dentures

And they don’t wear you

But you’re worn out

You’ve been in a daydream till now

So that’s how the bone crept up on you

Or rather you on it

And of course you sit on a seat

But you thought it neat

To stand

And that’s when you land in the river and

Wonder, what wonder!?

How the current pulls you under
