Wolves

Poem

THERE ARE WOLVES ON THE FLOOR THEY'RE ON ALL DIFFERENT SIDES

THERE’S A LINE THAT I SHOULD NOT CROSS

THEY’LL SNARL AND THEY’LL CRY ALL NIGHT

THEY’LL KEEP ME AWAKE IN DREAMS

I HOPE THEY DONT KNOW MY NAME

I HOPE THAT THEY'RE GONE

MAROONED BY THE SUFFERING DETAILED DARKNESS

THEY ARE ALIVE BUT THEY ARE RESTING

DON'T WAKE THEM

THERE ARE WOLVES ON THE FLOOR THEY PARDON YOUR WAY

THEN THEY WILL GATHER AT THE DOOR

THESE GATES OF REASON AND TIME

WHERE I WISH FOR FREEDOM

AND RECOVERING CRUEL BURDEN

I HELP THE UNDESERVING EARTH OF THE PROMISED

LAND

I DIE ALONGSIDE THE HEALING ONES

THE HORRORS

OF THE BODY AND THE MIND SEPERATED

BY AN ARMY OF TEACHINGS CONFINED TO THEIR BEDS

BY A MILLION DIFFERENT HANDS ACROSS THE RIVERS

OF SOCIETY AND SOLITUDE

SHOW ME WHERE I CAN BE A SLAVE

BEYOND THE SHREDS OF FALSE LIGHT THAT BECKON ME TO

DRINK UP THE NIGHT LIKE PEASANT

WINE

THERE ARE WOLVES ON THE FLOOR I KNOW

THEY WATCH ME

HOW THEY WATCH ME

LIKE THE MOONLIGHT WATCHES THE SEA
