Mamma said they'll be days like this, they'll be days like this mamma said.
Mamma said they'll be days like this, they'll be days like this mamma said.
But what mamma failed to tell me is that Sometimes the ground will crawl from underneath me/ Some days I'll feel like an abandoned school house/ Like that point in history nobody knows about/ Like there's a storm brewing in my veins.
Sometimes I'll watch the sun and Moon trade places/ Am tempted to drop a pin when it's quiet enough/ I Start to acknowledge my own heart beat/ Regretfully so/ And while I can't think of anything else I can clearly hear it in the back of my mind–
Mamma said they'll be days like this–
When my own breathing annoys me!/ My feet are two anchors breaking through concrete, and I’m losing track of everything/
They'll be days like this, mamma said…
But how am I supposed to hold onto a will I lost a long time ago?/ And yes/ yes I know that I've gotta push through/ but the odds are piling up/ I can't sleep at night/ I’ve been Pretty stuck.
Sometimes I imagine how long I can hold My breath under water/ Until my lungs start to burn/ and my body yearns for living again. Like a deep breath before doing something you're Afraid of/ Sometimes there's a lot of things I'm afraid of.
Mamma said they'll be days like this, they'll be days like this Mamma said. Mamma said they'll be days like this, they'll be days like this Mamma said.
