She didn't know

She was magic

She didn't know

That specks of fairy dust

Lingered

On strands of her hair

How long it took her

To realise

She could fly

What sparks of chaos

Could burst

From her fingers

At a frenzied attempt

At escape

She breathed in sunlight

And scattered spectrums

Not knowing

They fueled her

Feet pressed to the earth

Like lips in a kiss

To her lovers'

Prepared for flight

But unwilling to leap

Unknowing

Unseeing

Unsure

What chattering questions

In her own voice of doubt

Drowned out the words

The spirit of magic

Wished to convey

How often

Did the laughter of fairies

Elude her

Dismissed

As the distant ringing

Of bells

But persistent is

The ancient force

Of magic

It found her

In the form

Of sparkling eyes

In a long-forgotten face

In the trill of birds

In the hush of forests

In the gurgle of streams

In the pounding

Of her own heart

And the rush

Of the ancient blood

Of her ancestors

Flowing through her veins

She awakened suddenly

Dazzled

By a blinding light

That pierced her eyes

Sparkles of magic

Flowed

Through the air around her

Energy crackled in her hair

With electric power

She marveled at the strange light

Wondering at its meaning

How quickly she would learn

The light was her

About the Creator

A. R. Ambrosi

I like to write, if that makes me a writer, then rock on!

I started writing as a child because I ran out of stuff to read. So, I only write stuff that I like. If you like it too, awesome! Enjoy! ^_^
