Winter

A Poem

Cold winds swirl around me

Snow falls from the sky

Dancing

A ballet of tiny flakes

I feel my heart grow colder

Testing our strength

Our love

Frozen

My heart can’t break

Incomplete as ice

Warmth empowering

Hibernate

Your touch awakening me

Harsh forecasts drift abroad

Spring

We made it

Our love blooming

Racing like kids

Ready for adventure

Rain

A mist falls from the clouds above

Light branches from sky to ground

Wind screeching

Summer

Sun beating down

Sand between our toes

Castles surround us

Gator-less moats too

Burrowed deep beneath our feet

Camps a sea of wonder

The air gets cold

We begin again

We will survive this year's storms
