Wings

She is hurting deep inside

Not sure of what she is to become

She can't see past all of the darkness within

She feels like a lost soul

She looks deep within herself

To try to make some sense of it all

But can't seem to find the answers

She feels so cold and alone

She is lost inside herself

She feels trapped and broken

She feels betrayed and abused

She has no where to turn

She starts to keep a journal

Starts to not pay attention to those who say she can't do it

She starts to get out more often

Starts living her life the way she wants

She feels better inside, more confident now

She feels like she is finally belonging

She feels like her skin is tougher

And her life is finally taking flight

She feels the pain of the past

But doesn't let that get in her way

She keeps pushing forward

She emerges on no matter what obstacles are in her way

She feels better about herself now

She feels more in control of her future

She will never forget the pain of the past

But she won't let it stop her

She is finally free to move on in life

She has finally gained her wings to fly.
