Versions of Truth

There are endless reflections

Of my former selves

Versions of truth

Like previous versions

Of an operating system

That no one likes to think about

What was once cutting edge

Is now outdated

Embarrassing

But the youngest versions of me

Didn't experience Windows 95

Like the older versions did

So I open my old, dusty poetry books

And I show my aloof, millennial self

The ancient tomes of writing

The outdated electronics

The grating dial-up noises

That were once me

The embarrassing errors

The bland writing of days past

The glitches in the system

The faulty devices

The clunky machines

And I marvel at how

I think I'm an iPhone X right now

But in ten years

This self will be obsolete as well

About the Creator

A. R. Ambrosi

I like to write, if that makes me a writer, then rock on!

I started writing as a child because I ran out of stuff to read. So, I only write stuff that I like. If you like it too, awesome! Enjoy! ^_^
