I wish you loved me
You put your head in my chest and breathe through my shirt as I rub your back
We sit in silence and I think about how I love the way you rest your arm on my stomach while we’re watching a movie
I think about how I love the way you pull me close to you at night and nuzzle your face in my neck
I think about how I love the way you look at me when I laugh; when you tickle me until I cry
I love the way you trace my lips with your fingers, so soft and careful like a shard of glass against tender skin
I love the way you rub my leg gently when it’s draped over you
I love the way you kiss me in the dark, so slow and passionate
I love the way I love you, but I hate the way you’ll never love me

To the Man I Love
How I Feel About You I feel like I’ve given you all I can give. I’d change myself completely to be with you. To hold you and call you mine. To make sure no one else can see you the way I’ve seen you. I want to be the only woman you’ve ever woken up to. And the last woman you’ll ever have a first kiss with. I know it sounds crazy but I’m so in love with you. I don’t know what it is, is a lie to say. I feel safe and protected. I feel loved and adored. I feel wanted. I feel as though you’d never ever do anything to hurt me. And you’d do anything you could to make me happy. But that’s just the thing, I don’t need anything but you to make me happy. I don’t need fancy things or dates or gifts. I just want to be able to call you mine. To hold you and kiss you and love you. To be by your side and support you no matter what. To follow you on any adventure you choose to take me on. I’d be there. I’d be there when you’re sick or sad or mad. I’d be there through tummy aches, headaches, or anything aches. I want to give you a family and a home someday. I want to cook you dinner every night before we snuggle up in bed and talk about our days. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you. To get you, to have you, and to keep you.
