Wide Open

A Love Letter to Your Sadness

By Jennifer HughesPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Heart broken,

wide open,

I see the loss

of connection in your eyes

Let me in.

I am not your enemy.

I feel it,

your sorrow

tethered to your bones.

Let me lend you my eyes,

so you may see

what I see

within you.

Let me lend you my strength,

so you may lift yourself

off the floor,

unbound by your sadness.

Let me lend you my heart,

so you may love yourself,

as whole as I do,

unconditionally.

Let me pour you out

and fill you back up

with my love

for it has never been so boundless

so full

so yours.

You are perfection.
